winter is coming

Days ago, the rain was kind of warm. People, walking on streets, were in light clothes. Now the rain is getting colder and colder. My legs tell me winter is coming. And the radio is saying it's Lidong today. I walked into a noodle shop and ordered a bowl of noodles in hot soup. Yum! Winter must come with a hot noodle soup.

Lidong is a Chinese word. It means the beginning of winter. Among the colorful festivals of Chinese, Lidong has many interesting and special meanings as well. People meet winter in a very formal way, such as making dumplings, having a trip with friends, preparing clothes for cold days, playing sports, and so on.

There are also lots of sayings about Lidong. Many of them have to do with the weather. For example, if Lidong's rainy, rice will go bad and nine cows of ten will die; if Lidong's sunny, the poor will be fed.

Now the rain is still falling. Does it mean a hard winter?

There must be a hot noodle soup on Lidong.
